Politics is not a game
February 07, 2008
Afghanistan is OUR issue. Look at every serious poll that's ever been done on the current mission and you will see that it is not popular. Why in the world would we not want to go on that?
Indeed. Calling for an election every time the polls seem opportune is not a game. No, of course not. Who would ever suggest such a thing?

The next sentence is:
"Stéphane Dion has a principled position on this and he has had that same principled position from day one."
Anything else you want to mislead people about?
Yeah..which principled position is that Jason?
The one yesterday? the day before that? Last week?
The Liberals have principled positions?? tell us more.
Dion just appears confused about the whole thing.
Jason the current mission is a extension of the same mission the liberal sent our troops in. So your telling us that this mission was never supported by the public, or just when the CPC came into power. Jason you can say that some of our honored Canadian dead was the direct resulted of being sent in to do a job not properly equipped, supplied, or
supported by the Liberal government. JC should take his head
out of Dion's butt more often and
face the facts that Canadians get the job done, they do not do the liberal favorite past time of sitting on their hands. They do not turn yellow and run, like the NDP,
BLOC, and the Librano's want them to do. If you want that witless
wonder Dion to be a leader, first he's going have to find a backbone.
Because what I've seen he's a spineless space cadet, with no principles or ethics. JC is the Liberal master of spin and is a PRIME "A" BONEHEAD.
I would ask JC whether or not he favours a "peace-keeping" role for us in Afganistan.
I would assume that since his hapless leader does, that he does too.
Then I would ask him what he is going to say the first time a "peace-keeper" is killed by the Taliban.
Does he really think that by changing the color of the hat, the Taliban is going to stop blowing them up with their road side bombs.
Where were the liberals when our peace-keepers were dying in Yugoslavia.
We NEVER had headlines or press lined up at Trenton.
Wonder how the families of those "peace-keepers" who died in other "conflicts" feel when they see all the press given to the Afganistan conflict.
JC should know that this is about Liberals and the press gallery pissed that they are out of power and nothing else.
I hope JC answers the questions I have directed to him.
Jasn - One position you really don't want to be in is standing behind one of those Liberal principled positions - you might get run over when they put their tanks in reverse!
Jason...
Why does your Law Degree smell like Crackerjacks??
So the fact that Mike's thread title on "intellectual honesty" was dishonest, and Jason's response is simply pointing that out, seems to have escaped this crew of keen political analysts.
So...are there ANY conservative blogs left where people actually think?

"So...are there ANY conservative blogs left where people actually think?"
Have you tried Gods of the Copybook Headings?
Also, I realize the Flea isn't a "conservative" as I understand you to understand that relatively meaningles term, but you might drop by his establishment. He's a clever fellow.
Mark Steyn has been known to make a cogent point from time to time.
I'm here to help, B. Call me. You seem down.
Occam's Carbuncle
Thanks, Occ. I will try the G of C and Flea. Steyn is a polemicist selling a program, not trying to figure it out. I appreciate the leads. You are much missed in this universe.
Balbulican is a hypocritical moron troll, I'm sure you've seen his crap in the past. Why feed him?

Yum. Free speechalicious!
"Balbulican is a hypocritical moron troll, I'm sure you've seen his crap in the past. Why feed him?"
Balbulican and I disagree on many issues. I've been sparring with him for years and haven't yet seen an example of the hypocrisy or cognitive impairment you cite. Don't you agree it makes for a better debate when the opponent is clever and cutting? At the very least it makes the comment threads readable. Don't wish away the Balbulicans. You'll be left with merely the Ti-Guys and Cherniaks. Shudder.

Who are you, again?
Balbulican's are rare, blessed with a patience and a sense of humour I have to reserve for people I actually know.
...I don't have much left over for long-winded and tedious online bores.
It's just a hive, only a thoughtless hive, filled with natural, all is natural jive.
Why do leaders never lead us anywhere?
We ain't goin' anywhere except corkscrewin' as the other bits of matter did, do and t'will continue doin’.
Stay on groovin' safari,
Tor

I agree with your central point. Your resources are limited. I suggest you devote them to the essentials, like personal grooming, using your inside voice -that sort of thing.

LOL OC....miss you man!
I love Balbull...boy oh boy! the fun times I've had with that guy from the "bunker"...heh heh, he slays me.

Ah, shut up.
"Ah, shutup."
Excellent retort. Austen-like clarity, but with a Swiftian edge.
Touche!
